I can't install Acrobat 9 (it keeps failing) but Acrobat 8 is fine with me for now. Like I said, I don't know why it suddenly started working. It worked for Word, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Excel.

Then I launced Word and tried the Convert to PDF button and it worked!Īfter that I checked the Print function and sure enough, the PDF Printer was now listed. I tried launching Distiller 8 and it said it wasn't installed. At some point, the icons for Acrobat on my desktop went to the generic Windows icons. Well, I finally got the PDF Printer from Acrobat 8 to install and work under Win7 64-bit, but I don't know how I did it! Basically I just kept tryihg to uninstall and re-install. I obviously did something to snarf the system which got fixed during the upgrade. I did that and now everything seems to be stable again. I decided to try a Win7 repair but all it would allow was an upgrade.
#RE DOWNLOAD ADOBE CS4 MAC OS#
The PDF Printer was working for awhile, then became unstable, especially under IE8. However, if you are on Mac OS High Sierra, then I would recommend downloading a fresh copy of installation files from here: Download Adobe Creative Suite 4 (CS4) products, and then follow the steps given in the work around to install the product on your machine: Installing Creative Suite on macOS 10.12 (Sierra) Let us know if this helps. It's possible that the 64-bit incompatibility reared its head once again undeer the Win7 beta. The problem was solved under Acrobat 8 by a Microsoft Hot Fix and an Acrobat 8 update.

Adobe had actually posted a TechNote in their Knowledge Base about how Acrobat and 64-bit operating systems didn't like each other. I don't think I specified that I am running 64-bit Win7 and that may be where the problem lies.
